Business Listings Policy

This Business Listings Policy explains how RiviuMaps ("RiviuMaps", "we", "our", or "us") manages, displays, reviews, verifies, updates, promotes, hides, or removes business listings and other place listings published on https://riviumaps.com (the "Website").

This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Disclaimer, Editorial Policy, Privacy Policy, User Comment Policy, and all other applicable RiviuMaps policies.

1. Purpose

RiviuMaps is an informational platform that helps users discover businesses, destinations, attractions, accommodations, restaurants, services, landmarks, and other places of interest.

This Policy describes how RiviuMaps manages listings published on the Website and explains the rights and responsibilities of users, business owners, and authorized representatives regarding those listings.

4. Information Displayed

A listing may contain information such as:

website;
telephone number;
operating hours;
business status;
available facilities;
location references;
embedded map-related media where applicable;
other publicly available factual information.

Displayed information may vary depending on the listing.

5. Sources of Information

Listing information may be compiled from publicly available information, publicly accessible business information, information made available by businesses, third-party information, verified business submissions, and other lawful sources available to RiviuMaps.

Because information changes over time, RiviuMaps cannot guarantee that every listing will always remain complete, accurate, or current.

6. Editorial Independence

Business listings are separate from RiviuMaps' editorial content.

Editorial materials including FAQs, travel guides, recommendations, reviews, rankings, blog articles, and destination guides are governed separately under the Editorial Policy.

Businesses cannot require RiviuMaps to alter independent editorial opinions merely because they disagree with them.

7. Ownership of Listings

The publication of a listing does not transfer ownership of the underlying business or place to RiviuMaps.

Likewise, RiviuMaps does not claim ownership over factual information identifying real-world places.

However, RiviuMaps owns its original editorial works, compilations, page layouts, original descriptions, FAQs, guides, reviews, software, design, and other original content created by RiviuMaps unless otherwise stated.

8. Business Verification

Individuals claiming authority over a listing may request verification.

Verification helps RiviuMaps determine whether a requester appears authorized to act on behalf of the relevant business or listing.

Verification may require reasonable supporting documentation.

Verification does not constitute endorsement, certification, accreditation, partnership, or approval by RiviuMaps.

Verification does not guarantee access to any particular feature or service.

9. Updating Listing Information

Verified representatives may request updates to factual listing information.

Examples include:

business name;
address;
contact details;
website;
operating hours;
category;
permanently closed status;
duplicate listings;
other factual business information.

All update requests are reviewed individually.

10. Data Correction Requests

Correction requests may also be submitted by users or other individuals possessing reliable information.

RiviuMaps may request additional information before making any changes.

Approval of a correction request is not automatic.

RiviuMaps reserves the right to determine whether sufficient evidence supports the requested update.

11. Business Promotion Services

RiviuMaps may offer optional services to verified businesses, including enhanced business profiles, additional business information, promotional content, social media links, official website links, announcements, and other services introduced in the future.

Participation in paid services does not influence RiviuMaps' editorial independence.

Paid services do not guarantee rankings, recommendations, favorable reviews, or inclusion in editorial content.

12. Listing Removal Requests

Verified owners or authorized representatives may request that a listing be reviewed for hiding or removal.

Each request is evaluated individually.

Submission of a request does not guarantee that a listing will be hidden or removed.

RiviuMaps reserves the right to request documentation reasonably necessary to verify ownership or authority.

13. Duplicate Listings

Where duplicate listings are identified, RiviuMaps may merge, reorganize, update, hide, or remove duplicate information in order to improve data quality and user experience.

14. Temporary Hidden Listings

Where ownership, legal issues, or factual disputes are under review, RiviuMaps may temporarily hide a listing while an internal review is conducted.

Temporary hiding does not necessarily result in permanent removal.

15. Fraudulent Requests

Knowingly submitting false, misleading, fraudulent, or unauthorized requests relating to listings may result in:

rejection of the request;
suspension of verification;
restriction of future requests;
suspension of related accounts where applicable;
additional actions permitted by applicable law.

16. Internal Records

RiviuMaps may retain internal records relating to listing requests, verification documents, communications, moderation actions, correction requests, removal requests, and other operational activities where reasonably necessary for:

security;
fraud prevention;
dispute resolution;
legal compliance;
system integrity;
operational administration.

Removal of a listing from public view does not necessarily require RiviuMaps to permanently delete related internal records.

17. RiviuMaps Rights

To maintain the quality and integrity of the Website, RiviuMaps reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

create new listings;
update listings;
reorganize categories;
merge duplicate listings;
improve formatting;
revise displayed information;
temporarily hide listings;
permanently remove listings;
suspend business services;
request verification;
decline requests that do not comply with this Policy or applicable law.

18. Appeals

Where a request is declined, the requester may submit additional supporting documentation for further review.

Submission of additional documentation does not guarantee a different outcome.

19. Policy Updates

RiviuMaps may revise this Policy periodically.

The latest version will always be published on the Website together with the updated Effective Date.

Continued use of the Website constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
