We recently got the annual family pass and visited twice, learning quite a bit each time.

Parking is available both right outside the main building and across the street. If possible, choose shaded parking across the street for quicker entry and exit, as the main parking area has heavy foot traffic that can make backing out difficult.

Enter through the white building, not the old farmhouse-like structure. Inside, you can buy/scan tickets. Grab a map and check show times – they might change due to weather even though they’re listed in the brochure.

As a kid, I remember watching a rattlesnake pop a balloon and riding tortoises here. While some things changed, many original aspects remain, like the alligator feeding show and animal shows.

For the best view at shows, arrive 5-10 minutes early. For alligator feeding, pick the window closest to the feeding platform – one side is shaded, the other isn’t.

If you go around the park in a clockwise circle, you’ll alternate between humid outdoors and cooler indoor exhibits. Shows are somewhat central, so you can pause for a show and then continue. We save the dock walk for last and have a tradition of counting gators before heading to the exit and paying respects to Gomek.

Look for the King Cobra and tortoises – they’re really interesting. There’s a large python that’s often missed; bonus points if you find it. *^ You can try the rope course above the gator/croc exhibits for an extra fee, but I’d advise against it unless you’re quite adventurous.

There are group discounts and online promo codes. Annual passes offer discounts at the snack shack and gift shop.

Family passes cover up to 5 minors, and they’ll ask for ID at the entrance.

For the little ones, there’s a fun dino bone dig area near the theater. Shaded benches are nearby, and there’s a kids’ zone towards the back left of the AF.

A water bottle refill station is outside the restrooms near the gator feeding show area.

Benches and seating are scattered throughout, and each restroom has sanitizer.

Definitely catch at least one show and one feeding – there’s so much to learn, and that’s what the Alligator Farm is all about.

*** TIP 1: If you’re collecting pressed pennies for your passport book, bring quarters and pennies for the press machine. Alligator and duck feed machines need coins too.

*** TIP 2: Near the theater, you can take photos with a baby gator or snake for an extra fee.

*** TIP 3: Feeling wiped out from exploring? Visit a local juice/smoothie shop down the road called Creative Juices.

Their healthy drinks will rejuvenate you.
