My husband, a retired Master Sergeant from the Air Force and a passionate history enthusiast, reveled in every moment of our visit. On the other hand, I lack those affiliations, yet found immense enjoyment throughout the experience.

The allure of exploring areas typically inaccessible unless one is part of the Armed Forces is undeniably captivating. Even for those within the ranks, such opportunities may prove elusive. The intimate encounter with the Intrepid aircraft carrier will surely leave a lasting impression.

For my husband, the chance to share his expertise about planes and helicopters was enthralling. The workshop where these splendid machines undergo restoration is an impressive spectacle in itself.

And then, there’s the pièce de résistance: the space shuttle and the captivating history of space flight. This aspect alone justifies the admission fee.

In summary, our visit was a shared delight. While my husband’s background added an enriching layer, the overall experience was universally appealing.

An excellent destination for a 3-4 hour outing. The submarine tour was a particular highlight. We savored delicious hamburgers for lunch, generously accompanied by a portion of fries. The retired Navy sailors who graciously volunteered as hosts added a wonderful touch. The exhibits were not only captivating but also remarkably educational.

A true gem in New York City, the Intrepid is undoubtedly one of the finest attractions the city has to offer. Dedicate around 3 hours for a comprehensive exploration of all the exhibits and experiences it has in store. From the three decks of the ship to the captivating submarine, Concorde, and space shuttle displays, the experience is nothing short of awe-inspiring. The meticulous upkeep of each exhibit is apparent. Special kudos to the Intrepid Marketplace, the ship’s restaurant located on the third hanger deck, where the portion sizes are satisfying, and the cool air provides a pleasant respite. The exhibits are impeccably maintained and offer insightful narratives. If you find yourself in NYC, a visit to the Intrepid is an absolute must

A visit to the Intrepid Museum is certainly worth your time while in New York. The museum is impeccably maintained, and the deck is adorned with a variety of aircraft. It’s important to note that there might be a queue for entry to the control tower, but don’t let that deter you, as this is included in the ticket. The experience is valuable as you get to glimpse the captain’s quarters and the control room. Having served from WWII through the Vietnam War, the ship holds a wealth of intriguing history waiting to be explored.

I have had the privilege of visiting one of the most remarkable places, and I must say, it was an experience beyond perfection. There is absolutely nothing to complain about; my heart is filled with gratitude and admiration. Every aspect was flawless, and I am particularly enthralled by the presence of the Space Shuttle Enterprise. Even though it represents only a small fragment of space exploration, it granted me an unparalleled experience that will remain etched in my memory forever.
